I did this carving a number of years ago but just recently got a picture
of it from my friend, showing how she had it installed on her front door. It is carved out
of a piece of mahogany which, due to its straight grain, is very easy to carve and makes
for a beautiful piece. Once again, I used watercolors to tint the piece, letting the grain
show through. |
